Technical Director - National

We're seeking a Technical Director to provide national leadership across our Engineering, BIM & Technology Systems, Planning, and Design & Construct functions. Reporting to the EGM Hawkins, this role will lead the development of national technical strategy, governance and capability, ensuring these disciplines work cohesively to support project delivery and work-winning across the business. Leading a team of specialist discipline leaders, you'll be responsible for driving technical excellence, innovation, digital transformation and continuous improvement across Hawkins. You'll partner closely with regional and project teams, providing technical leadership and assurance on some of New Zealand's most complex and significant projects. In This Role You'll Lead the national Engineering, BIM & Technology Systems, Planning, and Design & Construct functions. Develop and implement the national technical strategy, standards, frameworks and governance processes. Drive innovation, digital transformation and continuous improvement across technical disciplines. Support major bids, strategic pursuits and complex projects through specialist technical leadership. Build organisational capability, develop future leaders and strengthen Hawkins reputation for technical excellence. What You'll Bring Senior leadership experience within the construction industry. Ideally hold an engineering degree (or equivalent tertiary qualification in construction, design or project management) Extensive experience across engineering, design management, planning, digital engineering or project engineering functions. Strong commercial and strategic business acumen. Proven success leading multidisciplinary technical teams. A passion for innovation, capability development and continuous improvement.
