The Taupo Swimming Club based at the A C Baths in Taupo, is looking for a motivated and passionate Head Coach. We are a place where parents, coaches and swimmers of all levels work together to be inclusive, positive and allow athletes to push their limits. About the role This is a hands-on role where you will design and deliver training sessions and competition plans for our squads. You will oversee athlete progression and goal-setting, provide engaging poolside coaching, stroke correction and constructive feedback to our squads. You will provide and maintain regular communications with swimmers, parents and the club committee and develop programme/s to support individual swimmer goals. You will promote the club and sport of swimming within the community and recruit new members to join us. You will manage swim meet calendars and provide meet-day support (minimum of one meet a month) to swimmers at local, regional and key national events - including warm-ups, race prep and post-race feedback. Administration Develop swim timetables and lane allocation arrangements, including regular communications with the A C Baths staff regarding timetables, lane hireage and events. Organisation of annual Swim Club Camps. Timely responses to new and existing swimmer/parent enquiries. Required Skills and Experience Passion and energy for swimming, coaching and connecting with athletes of all ages. A background in competitive swimming or formal coaching experience (any level considered) Current Swimming New Zealand Membership and membership of NZSCTA. Strong administrative and organisation skills, and the ability to set clear expectations. Build positive, encouraging relationships with athletes and their families.
