New World Pukekohe is looking for an experienced Butchery 2IC to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced butcher who enjoys leading a team, maintaining high standards, and delivering an outstanding product to our customers. About the role Key responsibilities include: Supporting the Butchery Manager with the daily running of the department Leading, motivating, and supporting the butchery team Maintaining consistently high standards of product quality, freshness, and presentation Ensuring excellent food safety, health and safety, and hygiene standards Assisting with stock management, ordering, production, and minimising waste Ensuring the department is well presented and fully stocked About you We are looking for someone who: Has solid experience working in a retail or production butchery environment Has strong knife skills and a sound knowledge of meat preparation Has previous leadership or supervisory experience Brings a positive and initiative attitude Is a clear and articulate communicator Acts with high integrity Is computer literate - SAP knowledge preferred Is reliable, energetic, and customer focused Has a proactive mindset with strong personal accountability Thrives in a fast-paced environment Leads by example and enjoys working as part of a team Knowledge of food handling best practices and compliance requirements Full flexibility to work a roster that includes weekends and public holidays This is a Tuesday to Saturday role.
