We're looking for a passionate and energetic Youth Worker to join our Whakamaru Transitional Housing team. About the role As a Youth Worker, you'll create meaningful opportunities for rangatahi residents to connect, grow and thrive. Through therapeutic, recreational, cultural and wellbeing-focused activities, you'll help build confidence, strengthen relationships and support positive life outcomes. Working alongside Registered Practitioners, Kaitiaki and Transitional Housing Support Workers, you'll contribute to integrated support plans while fostering a safe, inclusive and engaging residential community. From coordinating group activities and life skills programmes to encouraging community participation and cultural connection, you'll play a key role in enhancing the wellbeing of our residents. About you You'll be someone who enjoys building genuine relationships and creating opportunities for young people to develop confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging. You'll bring: Experience working with rangatahi or vulnerable communities, including people with complex needs Strong relationship-building, communication and de-escalation skills Experience developing or facilitating activities, programmes or group engagement A calm, resilient and non-judgemental approach The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Confidence maintaining professional boundaries in a dynamic environment A current full New Zealand driver's licence Experience in residential settings and knowledge of wellbeing, emotional regulation or strengths-based approaches will be highly regarded.
