Experienced Beekeeper Required

Arataki Honey Ltd – Havelock North, North Island We are seeking an Experienced Beekeeper to join our Hawke’s Bay team. The position would initially be seasonal with the possibility of this becoming a permanent position for the right candidate. Working outside for most of the year, this position is suited to a hardworking, physically fit individual who enjoys working as part of a team. Applicants should have a minimum of three – five years beekeeping experience in a commercial or semi-commercial beekeeping enterprise andbe able to demonstrate an understanding of how to maintain good bee health and best practice hive management. Requirements: 3-5 years beekeeping experience working in a commercial New Zealand Apiary Have completed an AFB recognition course Have a passion for beekeeping and a commitment to learn the Arataki Honey principles of beekeeping. A class 2 truck licence and a forklift licence is preferred. Reliable team player with a good work ethic. Physical heavy lifting in a variety of climatic conditions. Ability to use digital technology. Average hours are 40-45 hours with long irregular hours required in peak season. Some evening, night or weekend work required at times. The opportunity to work outside in the beautiful Hawke’s Bay countryside. Specific, on-going training will be provided.
