Job Description

We are looking for an energetic youth development worker who has the skills and passion to be able to drive positive engagement with our youth council members and the wider cohort. The Halberg Foundation is an iconic charitable organisation at the forefront of inclusive play, sport and recreation across Aotearoa New Zealand. Join our dynamic team to help support Sir Murray’s vision to enhance the lives of physical disabled young New Zealanders through the benefits of sport and recreation. This role will work mainly with the Halberg Foundation Youth Council, a small group of young people who have been identified as potential future leaders. This role will develop programmes that identify opportunities for them to engage, learn, grow and give back to their community. You will build a strong, respectful environment that offers a safe and inclusive space that supports learning, wellbeing, and personal growth. Your calm presence and strengths-based approach will help mentor and inspire our young cohort in their personal journeys. This work will be across both an individual and collective development scope. You will have exceptional communication and facilitation skills, with a proven ability to connect with young people. You will work with the Halberg adviser team to offer guidance and assistance around local youth development opportunities around Aotearoa New Zealand. This is an exciting role so we are looking for someone who can deliver in a fast-paced environment, where using your initiative and being proactive is encouraged. A resilient individual with excellent communication and problem-solving skills is essential for success in this role. This role requires someone who can be flexible around hours as there will be a requirement for evening and weekend engagement. This is a great role for someone who may have disability experience (lived or otherwise) looking to take the next step on their professional journey. Most importantly we are seeking a candidate who can showcase their energy, drive and enthusiasm. This is a part-time role based out of our Parnell offices in Auckland requiring a full driver’s licence. #J-18808-Ljbffr
