Position Overview: As a vital part of our team, you'll support a wide array of clients with their accounting needs and play a significant role in the advancement of our practice. Key Responsibilities: Prepare financial accounts and returns for a diverse client base. Engage directly with clients, enhancing your client management and teamwork skills. Strong commitment to accountability and self management of workflow. Analyse financial results, identify trends, and pinpoint areas for improvement. Offer support and guidance on accounting software and systems. Stay updated on industry trends, changes in tax laws, and accounting standards to deliver up-to-date solutions to our clients For more experienced candidates, taking greater ownership of client relationships, complex work and supporting junior team members What We're Looking For: We're interested in people with different levels of experience, so you don't need to tick every box. Ideally, you'll have: Accounting experience or relevant accounting study, with NZ public practice experience particularly valued. Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero and XPM, or the ability to learn new systems quickly. Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail are non-negotiable. A collaborative spirit that thrives in a team setting, aligning with our client-first philosophy. The ability to take responsibility for your work and manage priorities. The confidence to ask questions and willingness to learn. A practical, can-do attitude. A sense of humour and the ability to work well as part of a team. For intermediate and senior candidates, we would expect a good working knowledge of New Zealand tax and previous NZ public practice experience. For junior candidates, we're more interested in your aptitude, attitude and potential . We'll provide support to help you develop your technical and client-facing skills.
