We’ve got 2 exciting Trainee Cable Jointer roles just for you! In this position, you will worktoward obtaining a qualification will include training courses, related work and associated paperwork to attain a Cable Jointers registration from the Electrical Worker’s Registration Boardobtain a National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Cable Jointing Distribution) levels 2, 3 and 4 in order to obtain EWRB registration as a Cable Jointer, making a real difference. The successful candidate will work on key responsibilities like: Prepare and identify electrical systems for work on LV/HV networks up to 33kV. Install, maintain, joint, and terminate Polymeric and PILC insulated cables. Operate cable jointing tools, machinery, and specialised equipment safely. Assess cable condition and perform testing and identification procedures. Apply and remove earths on underground conductors following safety protocols. Interpret work plans, drawings, procedures, and manuals for cable servicing. Maintain tools and equipment specific to jointing tasks. Conduct excavation, reinstatement, and confined space work as required. Follow joint pit safety standards and rescue techniques. Manage basic traffic control and liaise with Network Operations for Access Permits. Participate in jointing meetings to uphold quality and workmanship standards. Complete all relevant documentation, including As-Built records. Adhere to QSE standards, halt unsafe work, and actively manage workplace risks. Qualifications and Skills A minimum of NZQA Level 1 or equivalent with English and Mathematics An awareness of industry safety requirements Previous experience and aptitude for outdoor work Who are we?
