Manager - Allied Health & Ambulatory Care

Tōtara Hospice is seeking an experienced and inspiring Manager - Allied Health & Ambulatory Care to lead our Allied Health services and Ambulatory Care Programme, ensuring exceptional care and support for patients and whānau across South and South-East Auckland. About the Role Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, you will provide operational and strategic leadership across our Allied Health services and the Te Puna Ora Living Well Programme. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of Allied Health professionals and support staff, ensuring services are delivered safely, effectively, and in alignment with the Tōtara Hospice Model of Care. Working closely with the Professional Advisor Allied Health & Support Services and other clinical leaders, you will drive service development, workforce capability, quality improvement, and organisational excellence. Key responsibilities include: Leading and managing Allied Health service delivery and workforce performance Providing strategic and operational leadership for the Ambulatory Care Programme Developing and implementing innovative outpatient, education, support, and therapeutic programmes Monitoring service demand, workforce utilisation, quality, and operational performance Driving continuous quality improvement, risk management, and service development initiatives Building strong internal and external partnerships to enhance patient and whānau outcomes Supporting the implementation and ongoing development of the Tōtara Hospice Model of Care What You’ll Bring To be successful in this role, you will have: Must-Haves Significant leadership experience managing multidisciplinary clinical or Allied Health teams within a healthcare environment Demonstrated success in operational and service management, including workforce planning, quality improvement, and service delivery performance Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and lead across diverse teams and services Ideally, You’ll Also Have A recognised Allied Health qualification and current Annual Practising Certificate Experience within palliative care, oncology, chronic disease management, community health, or a related healthcare setting Postgraduate qualifications and/or leadership development training Strong financial and resource management capability Experience leading change and service improvement initiatives For over 40 years, Tōtara Hospice has been a cornerstone of specialist palliative care for South and South-East Auckland, serving one of New Zealand's most diverse communities.
