About The opportunity | Ko te āheinga: We are looking for an Intermediate GIS Analyst to join our ICT team. This is a full time, permanent opportunity based in Napier. This role will provide technical expertise, support, and innovative GIS solutions that help Council achieve its business objectives. Working across projects and operational activities, this role will undertake spatial analysis, develop and support GIS applications and databases, partner with stakeholders to identify and implement solutions, and provide expert advice, training, and support to ensure Council's ESRI-based GIS platform and spatial data services are accurate, reliable, and continuously improving. About you | E pā ana ki a koe: The successful applicant will be a customer-focused GIS professional with strong technical capability and a passion for delivering innovative spatial solutions. You will bring experience working with ESRI technologies, applying spatial analysis to solve business challenges, and building effective relationships across the organisation. You will also have: A relevant qualification in GIS, geography, science, information technology, or a related discipline and experience in a GIS or similar role Practical experience with the ESRI suite of products, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise, along with experience using geoprocessing and spatial analysis tools Experience with FME, Python, SQL and JSON, and a sound understanding of geospatial data management, GIS principles, and database administration Excellent communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to customer service, continuous improvement, and supporting others through training and mentoring Valid driver’s licence required The salary range for this role is between $88,995 to $104,700 and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
