Job Description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey. Natural Paint Company – Auckland, North Island Natural Paint Co is a purpose‑led New Zealand brand redefining the paint industry. Our reputation has been built over the past decade on two things: exceptional products, and an experience that feels personal from start to finish. Ecommerce is how most of our customers meet us, and it is the primary engine of our continued growth in New Zealand and Australia. The purpose of this role is to own and drive the commercial performance of Natural Paint Co's ecommerce channel. You will be accountable for revenue and profit after advertising spend across both markets, with end‑to‑end responsibility for paid media, on‑site conversion, and the growth roadmap that connects the two. This is a hands‑on ownership role. You will be in the ad platforms and the Shopify admin day‑to‑day, and you'll also drive the agenda; defining where the next dollar of spend or hour of effort goes in, and backing that recommendation with evidence. We are looking for someone who is ruthlessly growth‑focused, rigorous with data, and able to explain what's working, what isn't, and what we should do next in simple, clear language and then implement it. You will be our execution lead for ecommerce in the business, working directly with our Founders. We're considering full or part‑time candidates for this role. Culture and mission Natural Paint Co is committed to making a positive impact on society and the environment through its business operations. Our mission is built on three pillars: Performance without compromise: Offer the best product with industry‑leading quality and guarantees. Utilise and protect nature: Prioritise natural ingredients and protect nature through our business practices. Inspire change: Redefine the paint industry through constant innovation that is better for people and the planet. Key responsibilities 1. Channel performance and paid media Own the commercial performance of the ecommerce channel across New Zealand and Australia, including monthly revenue, channel efficiency, and profit after advertising spend. Own the day‑to‑day management of all paid marketing channels, including Meta, Google and Pinterest, across both markets. Plan, build, launch and optimise campaigns across the full funnel - from top‑of‑funnel awareness through to conversion and retention - including audience targeting, campaign structure, budget pacing and creative rotation. Allocate the monthly media budget across channels, markets and campaigns to maximise profitable revenue within agreed targets. You will recommend when to scale spend up and when to pull back. Own the paid creative brief. Define what creative we need to test, brief the content creator, and maintain a testing cadence supported by enough creative volume to keep our channels healthy. Working within the Ecommerce Equation framework, own a continuous program of testing across creative, audiences, offers and landing pages, and apply the learnings across channels and markets. Maintain accurate tracking and attribution, including conversion tracking, pixels and tags, product feeds, and flag and resolve issues promptly. 2. Website, conversion and customer experience Own on‑site conversion performance, including conversion rate, AOV, and the sample‑to‑large‑order journey. Lead a structured, prioritised conversion rate optimisation program across the site, from landing pages through to checkout. Identify friction points and opportunities to improve conversion and AOV using both data, your experience, and your own hands‑on assessment of our site. Own on‑site experimentation, using A/B testing. While we’re growing quickly, we’re a small competitor operating in two small markets so we want someone who can still make confident, evidence‑based calls with the data we have. Recommend and, where approved by Leadership, implement improvements to product pages, landing pages, navigation, add‑ons and checkout, working with our development resource where appropriate. Connect the dots between paid performance, site performance and revenue outcomes, and help us get to the root cause faster. You will recognise when a campaign is underperforming because of a landing page or website issue rather than targeting or creative, and vice versa. 3. Insight, analytics and reporting Act as the go‑to person for how the ecommerce channel is performing and why. Your data is the central source of truth. Monitor and analyse the full ecommerce funnel, from traffic through to conversion, AOV, MER, revenue and CPP, across paid, organic, email and direct. Build on and streamline our existing analytics toolset (GA4, Shopify analytics, ad platform reporting, Ecomm Equation) to create a single source of truth that Leadership trusts and can self‑serve from. Identify trends, opportunities and risks in the data, including seasonality, product and colour‑level performance, sample‑to‑large‑order conversion rates, and differences between the NZ and AU markets. Translate these trends and insights into recommendations with a clear expected revenue impact. Provide regular written performance snapshots, and a monthly performance review covering spend, results, insights and recommended next actions. Present findings in plain language, focused on the commercial story behind the numbers rather than platform jargon. Stay current with platform changes, privacy and tracking developments, and paid media best practice, and brief the team on the changes that matter to us. 4. Growth roadmap and planning Build and maintain a rolling growth roadmap for the ecommerce channel, prioritised by expected revenue impact, cost and effort required. Bring that roadmap to Leadership with a clear point of view on what is next and why, proactively rather than waiting to be asked. Contribute to wider commercial planning, including the promotional calendar, new product launches, major sale events such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and the Australian expansion. Take an outside‑in view of our whole setup. Maintain a critical view of our site architecture, tech stack, tooling and workflows, especially where they are constraining growth, and make the case for improvements. Identify and evaluate new channels, tools or partners where they represent a genuine opportunity, and size the prize before we commit. Decision rights and authority Set and adjust the allocation of the agreed monthly media budget across channels, markets and campaigns without seeking approval. Changes to the total monthly budget are agreed with Leadership and Founders. Launch, pause, restructure and retire campaigns across paid channels at your discretion, keeping Leadership updated via clear and proactive communications. Ship changes to landing pages, product page content and other conversion channels within agreed brand guidelines. Changes to core brand pages, pricing and primary navigation will be agreed with Leadership. Own the sequencing of your own roadmap, with priorities aligned with Leadership each quarter. What success looks like In the first 90 days You know our numbers better than we do, and have delivered at least one major change to our ecommerce approach that has improved outcomes. You’ve got all our paid channels dialed, with up‑to‑date creative, appropriate targeting, and a testing regime in place. A single performance reporting view is in place, replacing any ad hoc reporting. A prioritised growth roadmap has been presented to Leadership, with the top three opportunities sized. Paid channels are stable and running to an agreed structure across NZ and AU. A running cadence of creative and on‑site testing is established, with documented learnings that inform what we do next. Demonstrable improvement in at least two of; conversion rate, AOV, customer acquisition cost, profit or CLTV. The Australian market is performing to the agreed level of growth, with a clear view of what is consistent with our success in NZ, and what’s different. By 12 months Ecommerce revenue and profit targets have been met or exceeded in both markets. The channel is measurably more efficient than when you started. Leadership can see channel performance at a glance, trust it, and plan against it. What’s not in scope Email marketing execution sits with our email marketing specialist. You own the wider view of how lifecycle marketing contributes to channel performance and will work closely with the email specialist on flows, segmentation and offers, but they own outcomes in this channel. Content and creative production sits with our content creator. You’ll own the brief and guide the production schedule in alignment with the organic content plan and ad testing regime, but you will not make the ads and organic content yourself. Brand strategy, product development, pricing and the commercial and wholesale sales channels sit with Leadership. You are expected to contribute your views but not to own those channels. Fulfilment, inventory and customer service operations sit outside this role, though you are expected to flag where they may be affecting conversion performance or other marketing metrics. Qualifications and experience Substantial hands‑on experience managing paid campaigns across Meta and Google for an ecommerce or direct‑to‑consumer brand, ideally across more than one market. Pinterest experience is a bonus. Demonstrated ownership of a commercial target, not just campaign metrics. You have been accountable for revenue and profit, not just ROAS to top‑line growth. Strong analytical skills, with genuine fluency in GA4, Shopify analytics and ad platform reporting, and confidence working with metrics such as MER, CPP, CPA/CAC, CTR, conversion rate and profit. Hands‑on Shopify experience, and a working understanding of conversion tracking, pixels, product feeds and attribution. Practical conversion rate optimisation experience. You have run a structured optimisation programme and can point to what you changed and what it delivered. A track record of managing budgets responsibly and improving efficiency over time, with the judgement to know when to scale spend and when to pull back. Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to distil data into simple, commercially focused insight for Leadership or a non‑specialist audience. Self‑directed, organised and reliable, comfortable setting your own priorities in a small team without close supervision. Valued, but not essential Experience launching or scaling a brand into a second market, particularly across the trans‑Tasman. Prior engagement with Ecommerce Equation or a comparable operating framework. Experience in a considered‑purchase, design‑led or premium category. A genuine interest in building products, healthy homes, design and sustainability. Structure, location and remuneration Flexible part‑time or full time permanent Reports directly to Founders Works closely with the email marketing specialist, content creator and Founders. Based in New Zealand. Remote or hybrid working will be considered. Formal performance review at three months and six months, then annually. Applications close 21 August. #J-18808-Ljbffr
