About the Service The role of Nurse Consultant covers the AdultInpatient Group, which comprises of six inpatient units across the Hillmortoncampus. These include a 64-bed adult acute inpatient service (Te Awakura)divided into four 16-bed unit that provides 24-hour care to tangata whaioraexperiencing acute mental illness. In addition to Te Awakura, the inpatient units Wāhi Orangaand Wāhi Tautoko work with tangata whaiora who no longer require acuteassessment and treatment but may need further support and a longer period ofhospitalisation before moving back to the community. About the Role This is an opportunity to make areal difference to nursing practice and tangata whaiora care at a senior levelwithin the acute inpatient services. As a Nurse Consultant, you will provideexpert nursing leadership and lead initiatives that strengthen clinicalpractice, improve quality and safety, develop our workforce and drive serviceinnovation. Lead complex clinicaldecision making, providing expert guidance and support clinicians to deliverbest practice Drive consistent,high-quality practice across inpatient and community settings throughcollaboration and clinical learning Strengthen clinicalgovernance, using insights from incidents and feedback to shape safe, equitableand consistent practice Building nursingcapability and leadership, developing the skills and expertise needed forbetter outcomes for tangata whaiora and whānau Strengthen equity andcultural safety, embedding culturally responsive practice across services About you Registered Nurse withcurrent APC and scope to work in Mental Health Minimum of 5 years'experience within a specialist area of practice A commitment tobiculturalism and achieving equitable outcomes for Māori Excellent communicationand relationship building skills Advanced clinicalexpertise and judgement with strong problem-solving and clinical advisoryskills Strong qualityimprovement capability with the ability to identify opportunities, lead changeand improve outcomes Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuringexcellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
