Experienced Dental Assistant | Full-Time | Avondale Are you an experienced Dental Assistant who knows how to keep a busy surgery running smoothly, anticipates what the dentist needs next, and genuinely enjoys looking after patients? Avondale Dental is looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join our team. We're a busy, modern 8-surgery practice with a great team of dentists and clinical staff. You'll work closely with one of our senior dentists and be exposed to a broad range of dentistry, including implant dentistry, surgical procedures, IV sedation and oral sedation . This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being busy, takes pride in their work and wants to continue developing their clinical skills. About the role You'll provide dedicated chairside support to one of our senior dentists, helping keep appointments organised, efficient and enjoyable for both the dentist and the patient. Your day will include: Chairside assisting across a wide range of dental procedures Assisting with implant and surgical dentistry Assisting with IV and oral sedation procedures Preparing surgeries and equipment for each appointment Anticipating the dentist's needs and keeping the surgery running smoothly Supporting patient comfort and providing confident, reassuring communication Maintaining accurate patient records Keeping the surgery organised and clinically presentable Assisting with stock ordering and other clinical duties as required And importantly, you won't spend your day stuck in Steri. Our dedicated sterilisation team manages instrument processing, allowing our Dental Assistants to focus on chairside assisting and patient care. About you We're looking for someone who is experienced, confident and genuinely good at what they do. You'll ideally have: Previous dental assisting experience in a busy practice Excellent spoken English and confident communication with patients A calm, organised approach when things get busy The ability to anticipate what the dentist needs rather than waiting to be asked High standards of clinical presentation and infection control A professional and caring approach to patients Initiative and the ability to work independently A positive, team-focused attitude A genuine interest in learning and developing your skills If you're the kind of DA who takes pride in having a perfectly prepared surgery, knows where everything is, and can keep things moving when the schedule is packed, we'd love to hear from you.
