Front Row Hospitality – Auckland, North Island Malt Public House is seeking a dynamic & experienced Bar & Restaurant Manager to join our team in our Grey Lynn venue. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to lead & manage the day-to-day operations of our vibrant bar & restaurant establishment. In this role, you will be responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience whilst ensuring operational excellence, financial profitability, & a thriving workplace culture. This position is integral to the success of our venue & offers the chance to make a real impact on our business performance & team development. This role has not been advertised in the past! Front Row Hospo is privately owned smaller hospitality company that operates four premium Auckland pub venues & one premium rooftop bar in Christchurch. Key responsibilities Oversee all aspects of daily bar & restaurant operations, including opening & closing procedures, stock management, & cash handling Lead, train, & motivate a team of bar & restaurant staff to deliver outstanding customer service consistently Manage budgets, monitor costs, & work towards profit targets whilst maintaining high standards of quality & service Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, licensing requirements, & company policies Develop & implement strategies to increase revenue, enhance customer satisfaction, & build brand loyalty Create rosters & manage staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage during peak & off-peak periods Handle customers professionally, resolving issues to maintain positive relationships Monitor product quality & presentation standards across food & beverage offerings Liaise with senior management regarding performance metrics, challenges, & opportunities for improvement Create promotion & events that highlight the venues personality & create local interest Manage live music & regular events. What we're looking for Proven experience as a Bar Manager, Restaurant Manager, or similar hospitality management role, ideally in a busy venue environment Strong leadership & team management skills with the ability to motivate & develop staff Excellent knowledge of bar operations, beverage service, food service standards, & hospitality best practices Sound financial acumen with experience in budget management, P&L analysis, & cost control Outstanding customer service skills & the ability to create a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere Strong communication & interpersonal abilities with proficiency in managing difficult situations Knowledge of health, safety, & food hygiene standards, including relevant certifications such as Food Safety or First Aid qualification Proficiency with hospitality management systems & point-of-sale technology Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, & public holidays as required by the role A passion for hospitality & a genuine desire to excel in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment Previous experience in bar cocktail knowledge or wine service is highly desirable What we offer Front Row Hospitality is committed to creating a positive & rewarding workplace for our team.
