Rangitaamiro is seeking an experienced and values-driven Regional Manager for Te Tai Tokerau to provide strategic and operational leadership across our regional commissioning portfolios. Rangitaamiro is a Whānau Ora Commissioning entity formed through the collective of National Hauora Coalition, Ngaa Pou Hauora oo Tāmaki Makaurau Iwi Māori Partnership Board, and Te Tiratū Iwi Māori Partnership Board. We commission more than $65 million of Whānau Ora services and support to communities across the upper North Island. As Rangitaamiro moves into its next phase of organisational growth, our Regional Managers will play a critical role in strengthening regional leadership, commissioning performance, provider capability and the impact of our investment. As Regional ManagerTe Tai Tokerau, you will lead a significant regional Whānau Ora commissioning portfolio. This is a strategic leadership role requiring you to build trusted relationships with iwi, hapū, providers, Chief Executives, Boards, government agencies, Iwi Māori Partnership Boards and community leaders, while ensuring our commissioning investments deliver measurable outcomes for whānau. You will bring regional intelligence and whānau voice into investment and commissioning decisions, strengthen provider capability, oversee portfolio performance and risk, and identify opportunities for innovation and system improvement. Working alongside the GM Commissioning, Chief Strategy Officer, Whānau Ora Intelligence function and fellow Regional Managers, you will champion our One Rangitaamiro operating model — ensuring we remain locally responsive while building consistent, high-quality commissioning practice across all regions. Ngā Haepapa Matua | Key Responsibilities Lead the planning, implementation and performance of the regional commissioning portfolio. Provide stewardship of significant public investment and ensure funding delivers measurable value for whānau and communities. Build and sustain high-trust strategic relationships with iwi, hapū, providers, government agencies, funders and regional stakeholders. Represent Rangitaamiro at senior executive, governance and regional forums. Use regional intelligence, evidence and whānau voice to influence commissioning strategy and investment priorities. Strengthen provider capability, leadership, workforce planning and organisational resilience. Monitor commissioning and contract performance, identifying and proactively managing strategic, operational, financial and reputational risks. Lead, coach and develop a high-performing regional team. Identify opportunities for innovation, service redesign and system-level collaboration. Contribute as a senior leader to Rangitaamiro strategy, organisational planning, governance and continuous improvement. Mōu | About You You will be an experienced senior leader who is comfortable operating across strategy, relationships, investment and delivery. You will understand that successful commissioning is not simply about managing contracts — it is about trusted relationships, strong evidence, effective stewardship and ensuring investment creates meaningful change for whānau. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate some if not all of the following: Significant senior leadership experience within health, social services, commissioning, iwi or related sectors. Experience leading regional portfolios and navigating complex stakeholder environments. Demonstrated experience managing commissioning investments, contracts and provider performance. Strong commercial and financial acumen, with an understanding of investment and portfolio stewardship. Experience working effectively with Boards, Chief Executives and Executive Leadership Teams. Strong strategic, systems and analytical thinking. The ability to influence, negotiate and build trusted relationships across diverse organisations and communities. Experience leading teams and organisational or regional change. A strong understanding of tikanga Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and community development approaches. A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent senior-level experience. Experience within Whānau Ora, a commissioning agency, Māori health or social services, or regional leadership would be highly regarded.
