This is a varied, hands-on leadership role. On any given day, you might be working with the Board on future priorities, meeting with a funder, supporting your team, developing a new community initiative, connecting with mana whenua or local partners, or simply spending time listening to the people who use the centre. Ideally, you’ll bring: At least three years’ experience in a management or leadership role, preferably within community services, the not-for-profit sector, local government or the public sector Experience working in community development, community centres or similarly connected environments Strong people leadership skills and the ability to get the best from a small team Confidence with budgets, financial reporting and organisational operations Experience building relationships with mana whenua, ensuring Māori voices are heard and valued, and supporting kaupapa Māori community initiatives A successful track record of identifying and securing funding The ability to manage several projects and priorities at once without losing sight of the bigger picture Strong relationship-building skills across diverse communities, government agencies, funders and external partners Confidence using everyday digital tools, including social media, websites, databases and standard office software A genuine commitment to community wellbeing and social impact An inclusive approach and a deep respect for the diversity of the people and communities you work alongside Most importantly, you’ll be someone who likes people . You’ll be comfortable listening, connecting, bringing people together and creating opportunities for others to contribute. This is a role for someone who wants to do more than manage an organisation. It’s an opportunity to help strengthen a community, grow what’s possible and make a tangible difference in people’s everyday lives. #J-18808-Ljbffr
