BARBERSHOP MANAGER | Auckland – NZ Work Rights Required ONLY BARBERS WITH VALID, UNRESTRICTED NEW ZEALAND WORK RIGHTS NEED APPLY About the role You will be responsible for the day-to-day performance and presentation of our barbershops. This is a hands‑on management position requiring a confident leader who understands the barbering industry, can maintain exceptional standards, grow shop performance and lead from the floor. Key responsibilities Leading, coaching and motivating the barbering team Maintaining consistently high haircut and customer-service standards Managing staff rosters, attendance, punctuality and shift coverage Monitoring individual and shop performance against agreed KPIs Increasing bookings, rebookings, client retention and retail sales Ensuring every walk‑in and appointment is correctly entered into Fresha Managing customer feedback and resolving complaints professionally Training, onboarding and developing barbers and apprentices Conducting regular performance conversations and providing feedback Overseeing opening, closing, cleaning and daily task procedures About you Proven barbershop, salon or closely related retail‑service management experience Strong professional barbering skills and relevant industry experience Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team A track record of improving sales, productivity or customer retention Experience managing rosters, attendance and staff performance Strong understanding of customer service and complaint resolution Confidence working with booking and point‑of‑sale systems; Fresha experience is preferred Knowledge of retail sales, rebooking and client‑building strategies High standards of hygiene, cleanliness and workplace presentation Strong communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills Competitive pay of $35–$45 per hour, based on experience and proven capability A senior leadership opportunity within an established Auckland barbering brand The ability to influence shop performance, team culture and future growth Professional systems, operating standards and training resources A supportive environment with clear expectations and performance measures About us Kirkwood's Barbers is committed to delivering premium barbering services and outstanding customer experiences.
