Treasury Trader Department: Treasury Department Reports to: Head of Treasury Location: Auckland CBD Key Responsibilities, including but not limited to: Execute trades across FX, MM, Rates and Derivatives primarily for the Trading Book or Banking Book based on business needs. Monitor liquidity positions across accounts, ensuring sufficient funding and liquidity. Provide competitive pricing and tailored solutions to counter-parties and selected clients. Support daily dealing activities, ensuring disciplined execution and effective risk management. Monitor markets closely and share timely market color and trade ideas to support revenue generation, trading strategy and corporate client-facing teams when required. Develop, maintain, and expand relationships with counter-parties, brokers, and investors to enhance trading flows. Managing credit approval processes for clients and counter-parties. Promote treasury market products through proactive communication, pricing engagement, and regular market updates. Identify and pursue new trading opportunities arising from existing or potential counter-parties. Assist with Head Office reporting, product coordination, and global markets initiatives. Support system upgrades, product enhancements, process optimization, and treasury-related project tasks. Ensure all trading, pricing, and sales activities comply with regulatory requirements, internal trading policies, and relevant risk frameworks. Maintain accurate trade booking and complete all required pre-trade and post-trade controls. Monitor exposure, limits, and market risks; elevate any potential issues promptly. Adhere to the Bank’s policies and procedures at all times. Perform other treasury-related duties as assigned by the department head. Qualifications and Requirements: University degree in Finance, Economics, Banking or related discipline. 5 years’ experience in financial markets, preferably in FX, MM, Rates, Derivatives or Funding. Experience in managing trading positions, exposures and liquidity. Familiarity with on-shore and off-shore market conventions and regulatory requirements. Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills. Self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to work under pressure. Proficiency in both written and verbal in English.
