Our success is built on a hardworking team and quality workmanship As our workload continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Machine Operator to join our team. The Role This is a hands-on role operating a range of heavy machinery across forestry and civil projects throughout Northern Waikato and Coromandel region. You'll operate heavy machinery including excavators, bulldozers, graders and rollers, while working alongside an experienced crew to deliver forestry roads, skid sites and environmental works to a high standard. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, thinks ahead, works safely, and can confidently manage their day to maximise productivity. Key Responsibilities Operate excavators, bulldozers, graders and rollers safely and efficiently. Construct forestry roads, skid sites and environmental rehabilitation. Carry out road metalling and haulage using six-wheelers and truck & trailer units when required. Complete daily pre-start inspections, electronic dockets and H&S documentation. Plan daily tasks to maximise productivity while maintaining quality standards. Work closely with supervisors and crew members to deliver projects safely, on time and within specification. Identify maintenance requirements and report mechanical issues promptly. Maintain a strong commitment to health, safety and environmental best practice. What You'll Bring to the Role We are looking for someone who is reliable, motivated and takes genuine pride in producing quality work. Minimum 2 years' experience operating heavy machinery in earthmoving, civil or forestry. Experience operating 15–25 tonne excavators, D6/D7 bulldozers, graders and rollers. Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR) endorsements. Full New Zealand Class 2 Licence (Class 4 preferred). Forestry experience is an advantage but not essential. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing site conditions. A proactive attitude with excellent communication skills. Basic computer skills and a willingness to use electronic job management and H&S systems (training provided). A strong commitment to working safely and looking out for your teammates. Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand and be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, with ongoing random and post-incident testing as part of our commitment to a safe workplace.
