The position will primarily involve construction monitoring across residential and related development projects throughout Wanaka and the surrounding region. Key responsibilities Carrying out structural and geotechnical construction monitoring inspections. Inspecting items such as foundations, reinforcing, retaining walls, earthworks and other structural or geotechnical works. Reviewing construction against engineering drawings and specifications. Identifying and clearly documenting construction issues or departures from the design. Preparing accurate site inspection records, including photographs and observations. Communicating with engineers, builders, contractors, architects and clients. Coordinating with our engineering teams where technical input or design clarification is required. Managing inspections independently and maintaining clear records across multiple projects. About you 3+ years of relevant industry experience. Experience in construction monitoring, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, civil construction, building inspection, site supervision or a similar field. A sound understanding of residential construction methods and terminology. The ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings. Confidence working independently on construction sites. Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify potential construction issues. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Good organisational and time-management skills. A practical approach to problem solving. A full New Zealand driver licence.
