Hauora Hokianga is seeking a values‑driven Pou Tāhuhu o Te Whare Āwhina: Mental Health & Community Services Manager to guide our kaupapa Māori‑aligned, integrated services across the Hokianga rohe. This role ensures strategic, clinical, operational, and people leadership across our Mental Health and Community Services and is central to achieving positive health journeys and meaningful outcomes for patients, whānau, and the wider community. About us Hauora Hokianga is a recognised Māori Health provider offering a range of health and social services for the residents of Hokianga through our main campus located in Rawene, and 10 clinics dispersed across the region. About the Role You will lead a multidisciplinary, highly engaged team within a service that is already functioning as a mature and well‑developed level. With strong foundations and processes in place, we are looking for a stand‑out leader who can continue to elevate the quality, coordination, and cultural responsiveness of our services. Your leadership will ensure that whānau receive the right support, at the right time, from the right professional reflecting our commitment to holistic, whānau‑centred care. Key Responsibilities Work closely with the Mental Health Nurse Practitioner / Team Leader to maintain high standards of clinical practice including referral management and clinical triage. Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team to achieve high performance and engagement. Ensure services are coordinated, high‑quality, culturally grounded, and aligned with best practice. Oversee service planning, reporting, quality assurance, and continuous improvement. Manage budgets, resources, and workforce planning to support sustainable service delivery. About You We are looking for an experienced leader who thrives in complex environments and is deeply committed to kaupapa Māori, equity, and community wellbeing. You will excel at building relationships, guiding teams, and shaping services that make a real difference. You will ideally have: A relevant tertiary qualification, ideally in health or health leadership, or equivalent relevant experience coupled with evidenced ongoing professional development and applied learning. Proven leadership experience in health, mental health, or social services. Strong understanding of Te Ao Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and equity‑focused practice. Experience managing teams, services, or programmes in a complex environment. Excellent communication, relationship management, and problem‑solving skills.
