Franklin Smith Group – Christchurch, South Island Join a specialist contractor delivering complex structures projects We're working with a specialist Christchurch contractor delivering commercial foundations and civil structures projects, and we're looking for a Site / Project Engineer to join their team. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys a balance of project documentation, coordination and time on site. You'll work closely with Project Managers, site teams, subcontractors and clients to keep projects moving and ensure the technical and documentation requirements are being met. The role Manage project documentation, QA and technical records. Assist with project planning, programming and reporting. Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors and suppliers. Complete site visits and support day‑to‑day project delivery. Monitor progress and ensure works are completed to specification. Assist with variations, quantities, measurements and commercial reporting. Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation. Help resolve technical issues and coordinate solutions between the office and site. Support Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle. About you We're looking for a Site or Project Engineer with experience in civil construction, foundations or concrete structures. You’ll ideally have: Experience working on commercial foundations or civil structures. Exposure to reinforced concrete and structural concrete works. Strong understanding of construction documentation and QA. The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Good communication skills and confidence dealing with site teams and subcontractors. A practical approach and willingness to spend time on site. Relevant engineering or construction qualification. You don't need to be purely office-based or purely site-based. This role will suit someone who enjoys getting into the detail of the project while also being out on site seeing the work happen.
