ASHHURST DISCOUNTER AND NZ POST is seeking an experienced Retail Store Manager, you will serve as the face of our store, taking the lead in customer engagement, staff management and delivering an outstanding retail experience. You will play a key role in driving sales performance and maximisingstore profitability.To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate strong interpersonal andcommunication skills, along with the ability to multitask efficiently and remain composedunder pressure. Requirement for the role: At least 02 years of relevant work experience OR at least a level 5 relevant qualification. Minimum 30 hours guaranteed per week Key tasks and responsibilities will include but not limited to: Plan and coordinate the overall operations of the store, ensuring smooth day-today functioning. Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote products, attract customers,and drive sales. Manage store promotions, advertising, and communityengagement. Cash handling and operating the cash register Deliver exceptional customer service and handle customer inquiries, feedback, or complaints professionally. Monitor and manage budgets, ensuring financial goals are achieved, and preparefinancial reports as needed. Ensuring that staff conduct themselves according to the company standards andpolicy. Always maintaining a clean and hygiene work environment at all times Communicate with customers to receive feedback and manage complaints. Implementation of store initiatives. Manage stock levels, including ordering, receiving, and inventory control tominimize wastage and maintain availability. Supervise, train, and motivate staff, fostering a positive and productive workenvironment. Oversee cash handling, POS transactions, and daily financial reporting to ensureaccuracy and proper record-keeping. Ensure the store operates within budget andprofitability targets. Creating staff rosters and making sure that the store has the required number ofstaff for smooth and efficient running of the store at all times. Perform administrative duties as required by the owner Develop and implement sales strategies to meet store revenue and profitabilitytargets. Manage the store’s product mix, ensuring a variety that aligns with customer. Demand and maximizes sales opportunities. Open and close the store on time as required Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements within theretail environment. Skills & Attributes: Proven experience or sound knowledge in retail management or a similar role Strong understanding of stock control, purchasing processes, and pricingstrategies Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to handle complaints and offer effective solutions. Ability to analyse financial data, manage budgets, and implement correctiveactions as needed Solid understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards Strong communication skills and the ability to perform effectively under pressure What We Offer Minimum 30-35 hours per week.
