Job title:Buyer II Start Date:ASAP Location:Mt Wellington, Auckland (5 days onsite) Duration:3 months with potential for extension Rate:$38.50 per hour + 8% holiday pay About the role ... We are seeking an organized, analytical, and process-driven Buyer II for a 3-month temporary assignment with potential for extension. Supporting a high-energy team in an advanced manufacturing and engineering environment, this role focuses on streamlining order workflows, clearing operational backlogs, and keeping schedules moving smoothly. If you have sharp Excel skills, a proactive mindset, and love using data to solve practical problems and improve day-to-day operations, this is a great hands-on opportunity to make an immediate impact. Key Responsibilities Order Execution & Tracking: Raise, monitor, and process purchase orders (POs) efficiently while ensuring policy compliance and accuracy. Supplier Coordination: Actively follow up with suppliers on lead times and order statuses to ensure materials arrive on time for ongoing projects. Data & Spreadsheet Management: Maintain Excel tracking sheets, analyze order workflows, and prepare practical reports to identify and clear bottlenecks. Process Optimization: Help streamline procurement administration to reduce backlogs and improve overall team throughput. Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and accounts teams to resolve delivery delays or invoice discrepancies quickly. What We’re Looking For Relevant Experience: 3+ years in procurement support, supply chain analysis, operations coordination, or project support (exposure to manufacturing or technical environments is a plus). Strong Excel Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel (data tracking, reporting, formatting) combined with a logical, analytical approach to problem-solving. Proactive & Solution-Oriented: A self-starter who takes initiative, follows up persistently, and naturally looks for ways to improve workflows. Detail-Driven: High level of accuracy and meticulous organizational skills when handling high volumes of data. Background: A qualification or background in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or Business Administration is highly regarded.
