Kurow Medical Centre – Twizel, South Island Kurow Medical Centre is seeking a General Practitioner to join our friendly, supportive and innovative team at either our Kurow Medical Centre in Kurow or Mackenzie Health Centre in Twizel or both. Twizel is in the heart of the Mackenzie and boasts to be surrounded by one in one of the most beautiful parts of the South Island. Surrounded by stunning blue lakes, white tipped mountains and close to Mount Cook. Plenty of fishing, boating, tramping, hunting and winter skiing (50 min drive to Ohau ski field) for those that seek adventure. Flexible hours and remuneration negotiable, with a $10,000 retention payment. APC and Indemnity Insurance provided. On call after hours work available if interested. Cornerstone Accredited Practice working alongside skilled PRIME trained nurses and experienced and efficient admin staff. About the position We are seeking an experienced General Practitioner to work at our Kurow Medical Centre and Mackenzie Health Centre in Twizel. As a General Practitioner, you will be at the forefront of patient care, providing diagnosis, treatment, and preventative health services while working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team. Key responsibilities Provide comprehensive clinical care to all patients including high-needs, rural, Māori, Pacific, or low-socioeconomic communities. Perform medical assessments, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans Promote preventative health strategies and health education. Provider supervision for medical students, TI, and GPEPs Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with medical standards Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care Maintain professional relationships with patients Maintain integrity in professional practice Undertaking research and quality improvement activities To be successful you must Be eligible to work in New Zealand Hold current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a General Practitioner Have strong clinical knowledge and competency in managing a wide range of presenting complaints Have a commitment to ongoing professional development and keeping up to date with clinical best practice Having knowledge of Indici is advantageous but not essential We are happy to consider overseas candidates from comparable health countries wishing to relocate to New Zealand.
