Transdev Australia & New Zealand – Wellington, North Island This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering excellence, operational performance, and stakeholder collaboration, helping to deliver a safe and reliable transport service for our customers and communities. The Fleet Engineering Manager is responsible for maintaining the long-term safety, reliability, and availability of the fleet through a close partnership with our maintenance provider, Hyundai Rotem. Key Responsibilities Work closely with the General Manager, Operations to monitor, sustain and improve the maintenance subcontract Performance Indicators Ownership of rolling stock engineering and maintenance standards and risks Manage compliance of the maintenance subcontractor with engineering and maintenance standards and schedules Provide professional engineering and maintenance safety expertise Represent Transdev in the Fault Recording, Analysis and Corrective Action (FRACAS) forum Review engineering submissions including engineering change proposals and maintenance plans to ensure they are of a high standard Lead Hyundai Rotem (Wellington) in development of relevant documentation, plans, programmes, and Gantt charts, etc. if required Coordinate with senior management to ensure flawless execution of assigned projects Provide regular reporting on rolling stock asset performance Ensure compliance to ISO standards for Asset Management and work with the General Manager, QSE to ensure compliance to regulations, legislations and standards governing the rail industry About You You are a collaborative and commercially aware engineering professional who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent stakeholder management skills. You are comfortable working in complex operational environments and are motivated by delivering practical solutions that improve safety, reliability, and customer outcomes. To be successful in this role, you will bring: Mechanical or electrical engineering degree Rail experience (preferred) Minimum 10 years’ experience in engineering roles Analytical skills Proven experience in a senior project management role supporting large businesses, preferably in the field of engineering and business improvement project management Solid technical background, with understanding or hands on experience in rail maintenance or engineering Experience managing change to assets and business process #J-18808-Ljbffr
