Bay Skin Cancer Clinic is seeking an experienced Procedural/Practice Nurse to join our team on a full-time basis . Based in Tauranga, Central Bay of Plenty , this is an excellent opportunity to work in a specialised skin cancer environment where you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care. As a Procedural/Practice Nurse, you will be at the heart of our clinic operations, supporting clinicians during procedures and ensuring patients receive excellent care throughout their treatment journey. Key responsibilities Assist clinicians during procedures, including skin cancer treatments and surgical interventions Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields and ensure compliance with infection control protocols Manage patient records and maintain accurate documentation of procedures and treatments Provide pre- and post-procedure patient education and support Monitor patients during and after procedures, identifying and responding to any complications Maintain and manage clinic equipment, ensuring all instruments are properly sterilised and maintained Assist with wound dressing and post-operative care Communicate effectively with patients to ensure comfort and understanding throughout their care Contribute to a safe and welcoming clinic environment Support clinic operations and workflow to ensure smooth service delivery What we're looking for A current nursing qualification and registration with a recognised nursing regulatory body Proven experience in a procedural or clinical nursing role, ideally within dermatology or a similar specialised setting Strong knowledge of infection control and aseptic technique Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment whilst maintaining attention to detail Knowledge of patient safety protocols and the ability to identify and respond to clinical risks Proficiency with clinical documentation and electronic health records systems A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with clinical best practices Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with a focus on supporting colleagues Previous experience in skin cancer screening or dermatological procedures is highly desirable About us Bay Skin Cancer Clinic is dedicated to providing expert skin cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment to the Central Bay of Plenty community.
