We require an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our highly skilled team to work on a significant hydro project at the Maraetai 2 Power Station, around 45 minutes away from Taupo, and 30 minutes from Tokoroa. Requirements Trade Certificate, with confidence in your trade Minimum 3 years’ experience Be able to interpret technical drawings and specifications; and apply relevant industry standards to finished products Must be experienced with aligning, levelling, surveying, assembling and adjusting of mechanical items / parts Must be experienced with measuring / dimension checking of installed parts and be familiar with measuring instrumentation as well as proper measurement methods Must have experience operating rotating, hydraulic, and other specialized tools Ability to follow instructions accurately and work as part of a team First Aid, Confined Space and Working at Heights certificates are an advantage, but we will supply you with the necessary training if you do not hold these Must have reliable transport To ensure safety and communication on site we require advanced level English speaking and reading. Responsibilities Active participation to make the site a safe place to work Assembly of the mechanical items / parts in accordance with technical drawings Ensuring quality standards on all project activities Promoting and safeguarding the interests of Andritz Hydro on site We work 9 hours per day, 5 days per week, with the potential for overtime on a Saturday.
