About the Role We have an excitingopportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to step into a senior nursingrole within our Paediatric Diabetes Service. As a Clinical NurseSpecialist, you will provide specialist care and support to tamariki andrangatahi living with diabetes, and their whānau. Working across hospital,community and school settings, you will play an important role in supportingtamariki and their whānau to understand and manage diabetes, helping them buildthe knowledge and confidence needed for lifelong management. You will workacross the service as an advanced practitioner, educator, consultant, leaderand care coordinator, providing expert clinical guidance and helping to ensurecoordinated, high-quality care for our complex and vulnerable patient group. In this role, youwill: Provide specialist assessment, care planning and ongoing supportfor tamariki and rangatahi with diabetes Support and educate tamariki and whānau to develop confidence inmanaging diabetes Provide clinical leadership, mentoring and education to nursingcolleagues and other health professionals Work collaboratively with Paediatricians and the widermultidisciplinary team to coordinate care Liaise with hospital, community and school-based services to ensureappropriate supports are in place Act as a specialist resource and advocate for tamariki, rangatahiand their whānau About the Team You will join asupportive and experienced multidisciplinary Paediatric Diabetes teamcomprising Paediatric Endocrinologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, aPaediatric Psychologist and a Paediatric Dietitian. Together, the teamprovides specialist, high-quality care to tamariki and rangatahi living withdiabetes and their whānau, supporting them across their healthcare journey. About You You will be anexperienced Registered Nurse with expertise in caring for tamariki andrangatahi within a hospital and/or community environment. You will bring acollaborative and solution-focused approach, along with the confidence toprovide specialist clinical advice, education and leadership. You will be anexcellent communicator who can build strong relationships with tamariki,whānau, colleagues and community providers. Your ability to assess needs,coordinate care and connect families with appropriate services will be key tosucceeding in this role. You will also have: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectivelywith a wide range of people Demonstrated clinical leadership and the ability to mentor, educateand support others Excellent assessment, care planning and time management skills The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team An understanding of health, disability and community supportservices A current New Zealand driver's licence, as the role includes travelto community services and whānau A relevant postgraduate qualification, or be currently workingtowards one Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a currentAnnual Practising Certificate (APC) Working atHealth New Zealand Health New Zealand| Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people ofNew Zealand.
