We're looking for a passionate Centre Cook to join our friendly team and play an important role in supporting the wellbeing of our tamariki through fresh, nutritious meals. About the Role You'll be responsible for planning and preparing delicious, nutritious meals each day, catering for individual dietary requirements, managing menus and food orders, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen, and supporting the wider team when needed. Every meal you prepare will help fuel children's learning, play, and development. We are looking for a caring, organised, and passionate Cook to join our centre, providing nutritious meals and snacks for up to 80 children each day. As our Centre Cook, you will play an important role in supporting the health, wellbeing, and development of our tamariki by preparing fresh, balanced meals in a safe and hygienic environment. This is a permanent position, working 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 2pm Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and serve healthy meals and snacks. Cater for children's dietary, allergy, cultural, and religious requirements. Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness. Order food supplies and manage kitchen stock levels. Maintain food safety records and comply with relevant regulations. Work collaboratively with centre staff to promote healthy eating habits. What We're Looking For Previous cooking experience in a childcare, school, aged care, or commercial kitchen environment is an advantage Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. A passion for preparing healthy, nutritious meals for young children. An understanding of food safety and children's nutritional requirements. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a food budget. Someone who enjoys being part of a team and engaging with tamariki.
