Data and Digital Development establishes and manages the data pipeline from data collections to data development and insights to support the core business systems to the level required by TEC and partner organisations. Data and Digital Development is comprised of five teams grouped in centres of excellence: Data Collection, Data Development, Business Intelligence, Data Science and Web Development. The Business Intelligence team contributes to a data-driven culture that adds value to TEC's business. It is focused on the delivery of business intelligence products, that create valuable insights to influence the decision making of TEC's businesses. He angitūtanga: About the Role Reporting to the Team Leader - Business Intelligence this role will be responsible for developing and producing management information to provide insights and aid decision making. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced BI Developer who enjoys supporting and developing enterprise-level BI products that tell compelling stories, influence decisions and make a difference to learners in the tertiary sector. Developing BI products to support core business functions of TEC and partner organisations. Supporting and leading exploration of new approaches to data visualisation. Advising on the appropriate use of data visualisation for different purposes and context. Establishing the purpose and parameters of the data visualisation. Provides overall control to ensure effectiveness and consistency. Ensuring BI tools are optimised and aligned with current and future business requirements and maintaining the semantic layer between the data warehouse and the BI platforms. Supports the integration of the BI environment with 3rd party tools to provide predictive analytics and machine learning solutions. We are looking for someone who is customer-focused, has great communications and people skills and willing to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. This role would suit an Intermediate BI Developer looking to work in a different sector. You bring the following: Demonstrated experience delivering Power BI solutions in enterprise environments, with intermediate to advanced proficiency. Intermediate to Advanced SQL and analytics skills. Skilled in applying best practices in data visualisation. Ability to engage with business users to understand their information requirements. Very strong customer service orientation. Experience using an agile methodology. Strong experience with data modelling and analysis. Good understanding of database structures, theories, principles and practices.
