Our client is a well-established, Kiwi-owned manufacturer supplying New Zealand's rural and construction sectors, with decades of history, a strong domestic and export base, and a reputation built on quality and reliability. Based in Tauriko, they're now looking for a Financial Controller to help write the next chapter. The purpose of the Financial Controller role is to provide sound commercial advice and guidance to the business to ensure that they remain secure and financially stable. The Financial Controller drives the budgeting, forecasting, systems and process improvements needed to move the business beyond day-to-day activity. The Financial Controller provides critical information and insights that are required for fast and accurate decisions being made. Beyond BAU, this role is responsible for driving system and process improvements, setting up reporting for management metrics, leading capital and pricing projects with ROI analysis, and providing leadership both to the direct team and the wider business. On a day to day basis you will provide leadership to the Finance and Administration Team to drive change, system and process improvement, and cost reductions, reducing the business's reliance on knowledge and tasks sitting with a single person. This is a flexible position, 4 days or 5 short days. (30 hours a week), with genuine scope to grow into full-time as the business does. There are options to work flexibly from home a day or two a week also. Key responsibilities Meet deadlines for reporting, KPI's and all other activities Provide profit and loss and balance sheet reporting and insights Produce monthly Board Reports with all relevant business information Provide cash flow statements and data to support decisions around funding, facilities and covenants Manage and lead month and year accounts for review by external accountants Oversee statutory requirements like GST & FBT Oversee payroll activities and payments Leadership of the annual budgeting and forecasting process Maintain all contracts/contractor relationships Participate and provide data for Daily Management System, Weekly Management System, Lead Team and the Board About you Proven Financial Controller or senior finance leadership experience, ideally with board reporting exposure Manufacturing, supply chain or customer services background highly regarded A natural leader who coaches and develops people, not just manages them Comfortable rolling up your sleeves in a business where no two days look the same Why this role?
