Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre – Christchurch, South Island We are looking to employ casual cleaners for our unique and very special site.These roles are to provide cover for our busy cleaning team which operates seven days a week. As a unique heritage site open to the public and tourists alike, cleaners play a key role in ensuring that The Arts Centre’s buildings maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Core Duties Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors. Cleaning/sanitizing door handles, handrails, and other high touch areas regularly. Cleaning restrooms including but not limited to toilets and urinals, sinks and washbasins, restocking dispensers, emptying trash and changing liners, cleaning and sanitizing fixtures and cleaning mirrors. Spot cleaning walls and doors to remove marks and handprints. Dusting and polishing. Cleaning internal windowpanes and glass fixtures, e.g., balustrades. Before/after event cleans as rostered. Cleaning of office areas, boardrooms, and meeting rooms. Carry out deep cleans when required. Flexibility to cover other shifts is required. Team Working Adopt a proactive and professional communication style. Must have a friendly and approachable manner and be comfortable working around members of the public. Work constructively and harmoniously as part of an existing team. Close liaison with the rest of the cleaning team, and the security and site maintenance teams. Required Attributes Cleaning experience Great interpersonal and communication skills. Reliable and honest. Self-motivated; able to work without supervision.
