Senior Design Manager - Health

Senior Design Manager – Health Lead complex healthcare projects from design brief to construction-ready documentation. This is a senior design leadership role at the sharp end of New Zealand's healthcare infrastructure pipeline. You'll own design outcomes across complex, high-profile projects including the upcoming Regional Hospital Redevelopment Programme and this will involve coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing commercial risk, and keeping quality, programme, and cost aligned from inception through to consent and procurement. You'll operate with real autonomy. That means making decisions, resolving coordination challenges, and navigating design risk without needing someone to sign off every step. You'll be the trusted face of design to the client — building relationships, managing expectations, and delivering outcomes that reflect well on everyone involved. What You'll Be Doing Leading multidisciplinary design teams and facilitating user and design workshops Defining the design process, programme, and key decision points across project phases Managing design scope, budget, and change control with clear governance Collaborating with health planners to embed clinical functionality into design decisions Leading design reviews and assurance at key milestones against AusHFG and NZCIC guidelines Overseeing BIM requirements, BEP development, and model exchange agreements Managing constructability and safety-in-design through the project lifecycle This is a hugely impactful & exciting role, working for one of NZ's most trusted & respected project advisory firms with a long track record on health projects in NZ. #J-18808-Ljbffr
