We're looking for a highly capable, self-directed, experienced Health and Safety Specialist to provide expert advice and will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment within our Institution. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall wellbeing of employees and the organisation's compliance with health and safety regulations. This is a permanent part-time position (15 – 20 hours), primarily based at our South Auckland Campus sites with a requirement to travel across Auckland campus sites as required. Hours to be determined in consultation with the successful candidate. What You'll Be Doing Provide expert advice and guidance on NZ Health and Safety legislation, best practice and industry trends. Develop, implement, and continuously improve Health and Safety Management Systems, driving cultural change across the Institution. Deliver training and facilitate workshops to build health and safety capability and awareness. Lead investigations using sound methodology to achieve positive outcomes. Manage injury and return-to-work processes and support the development and rollout of wellbeing strategies and initiatives. Monitor and report on health and safety performance metrics. What You'll Bring A relevant tertiary qualification inHealth and Safety or an equivalent qualification such as a Level 4 Diploma in Health and Safety or NEBOSH certification. Self-starter with excellent understanding and application of NZ Health and Safety legislation and best practice to ensure compliance. Experience in a similar Health & Safety Specialist role, preferably in education, manufacturing and/or hospitality environments across multiple sites. Proven experience of developing and implementing Health and Safety & Risk Management Systems. Expertise in conducting investigations and injury management experience.
