About the Role The Registered Nurse (RN) role workingat Tane Mahuta, Regional Rehabilitation Services, Central Regional Forensic& Rehabilitation Psychiatric Inpatient Units, Te Korowai-Whāriki isrequired to have mental health nursing experience. The RN practices within a multi-disciplinaryteam; fosters a person-centred approach, inclusive of whanau participation,that supports individually identified goals within the rehabilitationframework. The RN is part of a TeamNursing approach that commits to enhanced communication, increased patientsatisfaction and patient care; research and utilisation of current bestpractice principles; supporting change implementation and ongoing enhancementfor service quality improvement and patient safety. The RN is a key part of the team'sinvolvement in change. The RN workinghours will be rostered and rotating and may work across the DHB as required dueto patient safety and workforce necessities. About theTeam/Service Location Tane Mahuta is an open rehabilitationmental health unit for up to 34 people within Te Korowai Whāriki'sRehabilitation Service. This is aregional innovative supportive service working with tangata whai ora insupporting their journey with a multi-disciplinary team approach. We advocate for best practice, sharingofideas, and the continuum of change management processes to align with ourvision. About you You will need to be able to workcollaboratively within a team; be able to support Mental Health Support Workers(MHSW) under your direction and delegation; carry out and assist MHSW's toundertake care activities. You willbring your active listening skills, solution focus approach to fosteringtangata whai ora to achieve their identified goals within their pathwayjourney. You will have the ability totake on new learning where required to support your role within the team aswell as have good communication skills with your team members, tangata whai oraand their whānau. You will be proactive in ensuring all nursing leddocumentation reflects a person centered approach and promotes the enhancementof independence.
