This is an exciting opportunity to be part of extending the Hospital in the Home service to the mid north region. We have a position available for a motivated and experienced Designated Senior Nurse who will deliver patient centered Hospital in the Home (HiTH) care to patients across the Mid North and Whangarei districts. This role will be predominantly based at Bay of Islands Hospital, but there will be some shifts in Whangarei. You will be rostered across 7 days of the week between the hours of 0730-1600. This role will work collaboratively with the Whangarei Hospital in the Home team and other teams to provide expert advice, care co-ordination, resources and support to healthcare professionals working with high-priority and complex patients/tūroro/tangata whai ora with specific conditions. The Clinical Nurse Specialist is an advanced nursing speciality practice and is an expert in assessment skills; diagnostic reasoning, knowledge of management options and monitoring that underpins practice. They will have specialist knowledge of complex conditions which is central to the role. About You Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) and a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) A current Expert Registered Nurse Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP) Portfolio Specialty knowledge and practice expertise. New Zealand nursing experience in specialist acute care settings with demonstrated ability to work at top of nursing scope utilizing high acuity clinical skills and excellent patient assessment and critical thinking skills. Ability to work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team with good knowledge of health related services that are offered across the mid North district. Great communication skills to ensure patients understand medication/treatment and condition and instructions provided. Proven ability to work alongside whanau to support Hospital in the Home care. Current full NZ drivers licence and confident driving across a variety of terrains Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable with an ability to think on your feet.
