Job Description Due to ongoing growth, our Dunedin-based finance team are on the search for aFinancial Accountant. Based at our Dunedin city office, this role will support the Financial Accountant with month-end, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations analysis and review, quarterly group and annual statutory reporting, tax and audit support and routine finance system tasks. Additionally, it will assist with AP, payroll, and internal controls compliance initiatives and ad hoc finance activities asrequired. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Assist with the monthly financial accounting requirements for the NZ operations, including preparing period-end journals in Pronto, supporting the completion of month-end workpapers, and assisting with the monthly OneStream statutory financial consolidation package in line with the corporate month-endtimetable. Liaise with the management accounting teams to gather information and support the accurate and timely delivery of month-end reporting requirements. Provide support documentation and respond to routine queries during quarterly audit reviews and the year-end annualaudit. Assist with the preparation of IRD compliance returns, including monthly GST, quarterly FBT returns, and income taxschedules. Assist with the preparation of the consolidated statutory financial statements for the New Zealand Group by preparing supporting schedules, reconciliations and audit documentation. Support the AP and Payroll teams through routine administration in Redmap, basic invoice workflow support, and allocated AP and payroll reviewtasks. Work with the wider team to progress internal controls improvements, remediation actions and SOX compliance initiatives. Assist the NZ finance team with finance systems projects, upgrades, compliance activities and continuous improvement initiatives by completing allocated tasks, testing, documentation and user supportactivities. Work collaboratively with the Financial Accountant, wider finance team and site stakeholders to complete allocated tasks accurately and ontime. Identify opportunities to improve routine processes, documentation and reconciliations, and raise suggestions with the Financial Accountant or Superintendent – FinancialControl. Qualifications Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Accounting, or equivalent tertiary qualification in accounting, or working towards completion of arelevant accounting qualification, ispreferred. Membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand is not required, however, future study towards CA or an equivalent professional qualification may be supported where appropriate. Current NZ working Visa is required for thisposition. Experience 1–2years’ experience in finance and accounting plus exposure to month-end processes, reconciliations or compliance activities isdesirable.
