Whitehall Fruitpackers - Cambridge, North Island We are seeking an experienced and proactive People and Culture Manager to lead our HR function, champion employee wellness, and drive sustainable workforce strategies. Reporting directly to the Directors and collaborating closely with our senior management team, you will support 70+ permanent staff along with our dynamic seasonal workforce. This is a broad, hands-on generalist role where you will drive end-to-end HR practices, strengthen leadership capability across the business, and help nurture our strong team culture. Key responsibilities Develop and deliver fit-for-purpose HR services that align with business objectives across our diverse operational divisions Manage end-to-end recruitment, induction, onboarding, and training compliance across all business units Day to day management of staff for the packhouse operation through the harvest and repacking season, liaising with team managers for daily staff requirements and rostering Partner with and coach senior managers and team leaders to build confidence, leadership capability, and effective team dynamics Champion employee wellbeing, foster positive employment relations, and organize engaging company events Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation, health and safety alignment, and HR best practices Leverage digital tools and systems to streamline HR processes, records management, and reporting About you Minimum 4+ years of HR experience, ideally within primary industry, horticulture, manufacturing, or a fast-paced operational environment A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related field Comfortable using HR technology, data, and systems to drive efficiency and modern ways of working Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to connect across all levels of the business-from field teams to Directors Self-directed, highly organized, and detail-oriented with the initiative to drive continuous improvement A valid New Zealand Driver License (required for site travel) About us Whitehall Fruitpackers is a progressive, family-owned horticultural and primary production business in the heart of the Waikato. While our core business spans 300+ canopy hectares of premium organic and conventional green and gold kiwifruit, our broader operations include dairy farming, dry stock, apiaries, and forestry.
