Indian Restaurant Manager

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Indian Restaurant Manager to join our team at jbsk77 ltd in Hamilton Central Waikato. This is a full-time position (30hours+) that offers the opportunity to lead and manage all aspects of our Indian restaurant operations. As Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences, maintaining high operational standards, and driving business performance. You will oversee staff, manage inventory, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and work towards achieving our financial and service excellence goals. This is a strategic leadership role that directly impacts the success and reputation of our establishment within the local community. Key responsibilities Oversee daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, and ensure smooth running of all service sessions Lead, train, supervise and motivate restaurant and kitchen staff to deliver consistently high levels of customer service Manage customer interactions, handle complaints professionally, and implement solutions to ensure customer satisfaction Monitor food quality, presentation and portion consistency to maintain our high standards Manage inventory, ordering and stock control for food, beverages and supplies, optimising costs without compromising quality Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and food hygiene regulations at all times Control labour costs and work towards achieving budgeted financial targets and profitability goals Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the restaurant and facilities Develop and implement strategies to increase customer retention, attract new customers and maximise revenue Conduct staff appraisals, manage performance issues and provide ongoing training and development opportunities Liaise with suppliers and maintain positive business relationships Compile reports on sales, costs, staffing and customer feedback for senior management What we're looking for Minimum 3-5 years' experience in restaurant management, preferably within an Indian or Asian cuisine establishment Proven track record of successfully managing P&L, controlling costs and achieving revenue targets Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff Excellent customer service mindset and the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and composure Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety and food hygiene regulations relevant to food service Sound knowledge of Indian cuisine, menu items and authentic cooking methods Experience with restaurant management systems and point-of-sale (POS) software Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required Problem-solving mindset and ability to make sound decisions under pressure Passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences and maintaining high standards Current Food Safety Certificate or willingness to obtain one What we offer At jbsk77 ltd, we are committed to creating a supportive and rewarding work environment.
