People Business Partner - Fixed Term/Secondment - Wellington Fire and Emergency New Zealand – Wellington Central, North Island As part of our People Advisory team, the NHQ Business Partner supports the alignment of the organisational people strategy with the overarching business strategy, guiding and advising on strategic management, providing targeted advice, expertise and guidance whilst engaging with managers across the region to provide support implementing strategic processes and complex HR matters. You will build a high level of trust and become the go to person for any generalist HR related queries. You will work closely with the different areas of the people branch to provide high quality and timely advice across the organisation. This is a fixed term position or secondment opportunity from ASAP - 24 December 2026. To be successful in this role, we’d expect you will: Strong experience in delivering generalist HR advice at a senior level Detailed knowledge of current NZ employment law Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to develop solutions Demonstrated ability to work under tight timeframes and manage competing priorities A relevant tertiary qualification and/or sound understanding and knowledge of current HR good practice and approaches The salary range for this role is $140,159 - $155,732 (pro-rata), dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
