Heavy Diesel Mechanic Foreman Location: Wiri Salary: 80kpa + for the right candidate Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic Foreman to lead our workshop operations and provide hands‑on technical leadership. This role requires advanced technical knowledge of heavy diesel equipment and the ability to supervise, mentor, and support a team of mechanics while ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and productivity. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of heavy diesel mechanics and apprentices Provide expert technical guidance and fault‑finding support across a wide range of heavy diesel equipment Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults Plan, allocate, and oversee daily workshop tasks and workloads Ensure all repairs, servicing, and maintenance are completed efficiently and to manufacturer specifications Conduct quality checks and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards, and reports Liaise with management regarding workflow, parts requirements, and job progress Support training, mentoring, and skill development within the team Promote a safe, productive, and professional workshop environment Skills & Experience (Essential) Trade‑qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic Strong technical knowledge of the heavy diesel industry – this is a must Proven experience working on heavy plant, trucks, earthmoving equipment, or similar machinery Advanced diagnostic and fault‑finding skills Previous leadership or foreman experience preferred Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities Excellent communication and team leadership skills High standard of workmanship and attention to detail Commitment to workplace health and safety Desirable Experience in a foreman or supervisory role Exposure to modern diagnostic systems and electronic controls Strong organisational and time‑management skills What We Offer Competitive remuneration based on experience Stable, long‑term employment Supportive team environment Opportunity to lead and influence workshop performance #J-18808-Ljbffr
