We have an exciting opportunity for a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Hotel Receptionist to join our team at Quest on London and Quest on Ward in Hamilton Central, Waikato. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming experience from arrival through to departure. You will be responsible for the day-to-day front office operations while ensuring our guests enjoy a comfortable and memorable stay. The successful applicant will primarily work in Reception; however, they may be required to assist with Duty Manager responsibilities, depending on operational requirements. Training and support will be provided where required. Training and support will be provided where required. What You'll Be Doing Greeting and welcoming guests upon arrival with a friendly and professional approach. Checking guests in and out efficiently while ensuring a seamless guest experience. Managing reservations, bookings, and guest enquiries via phone, email, and in person. Processing guest payments and maintaining accurate records. Providing local knowledge and recommendations to enhance guests' stay. Liaising with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure rooms are prepared to the highest standard. Responding promptly and professionally to guest requests and resolving any issues. Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming reception area. Assisting with general reception and administrative duties as required. Supporting hotel operations by undertaking Duty Manager responsibilities when required. What We're Looking For Previous experience in a hotel reception. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for customer service. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. The ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure. Good computer skills and experience using hotel software is an advantage. A positive, reliable, and professional attitude. Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays. A valid right to work in New Zealand.
