About the role We are seeking experienced Carpenters and motivated Apprentices to join our team. This is a full-time position based in Queenstown Otago, where you will be working on a variety of residential builds. Whether you are an experienced carpenter looking for your next opportunity or an apprentice eager to develop your skills in the building trades, we want to hear from you. This role offers the chance to work with a professional team that values quality workmanship and continuous improvement in all aspects of construction. Key responsibilities Reading and interpreting architectural plans and building specifications to ensure accurate construction work Measuring, cutting, and shaping timber and other materials to required specifications Installing and fitting structural elements including framing, flooring, wall linings, and roofing components Finishing work including hanging doors, installing windows, skirting, and other trim work Operating hand and power tools safely and maintaining them in good working condition Ensuring all work meets building codes, health and safety regulations, and company quality standards Working collaboratively with other tradespeople and site supervisors to maintain project timelines Maintaining a clean and organised work site and disposing of waste materials appropriately For Apprentices: undertaking formal training and on-the-job mentoring to develop carpentry skills under the guidance of experienced carpenters What we're looking for For Carpenters: a minimum of 3 years' post-apprenticeship experience in residential or commercial carpentry work For Apprentices: a genuine interest in learning the building trades and a willingness to work under supervision A current New Zealand Certificate in Carpentry or equivalent qualification (for carpenters); school qualifications or entry-level qualifications for apprentices Proficiency in reading and interpreting building plans and specifications Competency with a range of hand and power tools commonly used in carpentry A strong commitment to health and safety practices on building sites Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering quality workmanship Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights, in various weather conditions, and in confined spaces Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team A valid New Zealand driver's licence (preferred) Willingness to obtain or maintain relevant site certifications such as health and safety inductions What we offer We offer competitive wages that reflect your experience and skills.
