About the Role The Adult Community Therapy Service (ACTS) provides allied health interventions across clients' homes, communities, as well as clinic-based settings. We are seeking a clinician with Seating and Wheelchair Therapist experience, who is passionate about providing client-centred complex wheelchair and seating solutions within a supportive inter‑disciplinary team. This role offers a varied and rewarding caseload, working with individuals who have complex needs, and the support of a skilled and experienced team committed to innovative practice. You will take a holistic, whole'of'day approach to postural management and play a key role in ensuring best'practice solutions are implemented in partnership with clients, whānau, and the wider care team. In this role, you will be responsible for: Undertaking complex Wheelchair/Seating/24-hour postural management assessments and implementing best-practice solutions, considered within a holistic approach Prioritising, organising and managing a varied case load Providing education and resource, where appropriate, to the client and their family/whānau, as well as the wider interdisciplinary team Engaging in service delivery reviews and associated quality improvement initiatives Providing clinical leadership for junior staff, Allied Health assistants and students About You You will bring excellent assessment, technical and problem solving skills as well as an understanding of the 24 hour postural needs for this client group. Your skills will also include: Enable NZ Level 1 & 2 Wheeled Mobility and Postural Management (WMPM1/2) accreditation is essential Registration with the NZ Physiotherapy Board OR NZ Occupational Therapy Board and current Annual Practicing Certificate is essential Experience working with clients with complex needs, including a variety of complex and degenerative neurological conditions is desired Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team Strong relationship building skills with community service providers As travel within Canterbury is required, a full NZ Driver's License is essential Working for Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
