We are currently looking for a dedicated and professional Assistant Night Manager to join our overnight leadership team. In this role, you will support the Night Manager in overseeing the effective and efficient operation of the Hotel during night hours. You will also be responsible for managing the shift in the Night Manager's absence. This role involves reception duties, auditing the hotel's daily transactions, preparation of reports, ensuring guest and staff safety, and maintaining compliance with relevant policies and regulations, including the liquor licensing requirements. This is a Full Time role, rostered across a 7-day rotating schedule, including weekends. Hours worked will be between 11.00pm and 7.30am, however some flexibility is required to meet operational needs. Key Responsibilities Provide warm, attentive service to guests arriving late and departing early, ensuring they experience the same level of care and hospitality throughout their stay Assist with and conduct nightly audit processes and preparation of end-of-day reports Accurately collate and audit all cashiering shifts, and ensure relevant financial information is communicated to the Finance Department Allocate and oversee the completion of the Night Auditor duties Ensure the safety and security of all hotel guests, staff, and assets Respond to guest requests and concerns in a timely and professional manner Monitor and manage hotel operations in line with company policies and procedures Address after-hours maintenance issues or elevate where necessary Ensure compliance with fire safety and emergency procedures Uphold the requirements of the hotel's on-license and host responsibility obligations Coordinate and deliver room service during the night shift, as required The Ideal Candidate for this role will have Previous experience as an Assistant Night Manager or a minimum of two years in a Night Auditor role Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to lead by example A relevant qualification in Hospitality Management (preferred but not essential) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A high level of professionalism and attention to detail Effective time management and the ability to work independently A sound understanding of Health & Safety procedures, emergency protocols and promotes sustainability A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving A current Manager's Certificate and First Aid Certificate What we offer our employees Accommodation discounts at Grand Chancellor hotels in New Zealand and Australia Food & Beverage discounts at Hotel Grand Chancellor Auckland Reward and recognition programs, including Chancellor Anniversary Nights and our Star Card incentive programme #J-18808-Ljbffr
