Team Leader / Commercial Builder - Aluminium & Glazing

We're growing and are looking for an experienced Team Leader / Builder who enjoys being on the tools while leading a crew to deliver projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard. We're also keen to hear from experienced builders or leading hands who are looking for a new challenge. If you've led teams on commercial or residential construction projects and have strong technical and leadership skills, we'll provide the support to help you transition into the aluminium and glazing industry. This is more than just another construction role. You'll take ownership of your site, lead your team from the front, work closely with our Project Managers, and play a key role in delivering some of New Zealand's most exciting commercial construction projects. What you'll be doing You’ll be responsible for leading a team installing a range of both commercial and residential aluminium and glazing systems including: Shopfronts Curtain wall Screens and canopies You’ll also: Lead and motivate installation crews onsite Plan daily activities and allocate work Coordinate labour, materials and deliveries Ensure projects stay on programme Liaise with Site Managers, Main Contractors and Project Managers Maintain excellent quality standards Complete site QA documentation and reporting Champion Health & Safety and lead Toolbox Talks Mentor and develop junior installers About you You’ll be someone who enjoys taking responsibility and leading from the front. You’ll ideally have: Experience leading commercial aluminium and glazing installation teams or A strong commercial building background with experience leading site crews and coordinating construction activities. Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings. Strong planning, problem-solving and leadership skills. A commitment to quality workmanship and safety. Strong communication and organisational skills. Site Safe (Supervisor Gold preferred but not essential) Full NZ Driver Licence A trade qualification or equivalent industry experience would be highly regarded. Why JW Projects?
