The Role: People & Culture Lead (0.5 FTE) We are looking for a practical, engaging, People & Culture Lead to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, your main focus will be building leadership capability across our business. You will coach and support our team leaders, helping them grow so that every single team member feels well‑led, well‑developed, and supported to do their best work. You will also lead our Talent Acquisition Partner to ensure we continue to attract great people to join us as we grow. What You’ll Do Leader Development & Coaching: Design and run our Team Leader Development Programme. Provide tailored 1:1 coaching to priority leaders, and facilitate peer learning cohorts so our managers can share practices and learn together. Competency Frameworks & Learning: Keep our competency frameworks practical, meaningful, and actively used as live coaching tools. Help design structured onboarding plans and identify clear training priorities across our teams. People Strategy & Workforce Planning: Partner with the HR Director to keep our people strategies, policies, and workforce plans practical, compliant, and aligned with company goals. Performance Guidance & Relations: Guide team leaders to spot and address performance or capability gaps early, supporting them with constructive tools and clear guidance. Liaise with external employment relations specialists when tailored advice is needed. Leadership Pipeline: Support structured talent mapping to identify high‑potential team members, coordinating stretch assignments and succession planning. Team Leadership: Manage, coach, and support our Talent Acquisition Partner, setting clear priorities and helping them thrive. What You’ll Bring Relevant Experience: Background in leadership development, adult learning, or coaching within an operational or fast‑paced setting. Framework & Coaching Skills: Proven experience creating or embedding competency frameworks and coaching leaders 1:1 (ICF accreditation or equivalent is a welcomed bonus). Balanced Communication: A style that holds people accountable with genuine warmth and directness, paired with clear written and verbal communication. HR Foundation: A strong understanding of HR best practices and the good judgment to know when to elevate complex employment relations matters. Practical Credentials: A tertiary qualification in HR, business, or a related field; a full, clean driver's licence (and comfort driving larger vehicles like motorhomes); and legal entitlement to work in NZ.
