Design Manager

ConsultANZ is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join a leading civil contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across New Zealand. This role will act as the bridge between design teams and project delivery teams, ensuring designs are effectively coordinated and successfully delivered on site. Main Duties Lead and manage design coordination across complex infrastructure projects. Act as the key link between designers, project teams, clients, and stakeholders. Review design, project, and commercial risks. Support construction methodologies and technical solutions. Ensure designs are practical, buildable, and aligned with project objectives. Coordinate design programmes and project deliverables. Manage and mentor a small team. Requirements Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Minimum 10 years of experience in infrastructure, civil, water, marine, structures, or construction projects. Previous experience in Design Management, Project Management, Engineering, or similar roles. Strong technical background and understanding of construction methodologies. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience working on projects valued between $10M and $300M. Benefits Competitive salary: $160K–$180K, negotiable depending on experience.
