We are seeking a Qualified Electrician / Solar Installer to join a progressive, busy team working across the Otago region.With the massive boom in clean energy across the South Island, this role offers a great mix of high-end residential solar setups, commercial PV systems, battery storage installs, and general electrical connections. What You’ll Be Doing Installing, wiring, and commissioning residential and commercial solar PV systems (roof-mounted & ground arrays). Mounting solar panels, DC/AC isolation switches, and mounting rail hardware. Wiring inverters, battery storage solutions (e.g., Tesla Powerwall, Enphase), and smart energy management systems. Main switchboard upgrades, grid tie-ins, and AC electrical connections. Reading and working off electrical schematics, line diagrams, and system designs. Conducting pre-commissioning testing, fault-finding, and sign-offs to EWRB / NZ standards. Maintaining strict working-at-heights safety protocols and edge protection compliance. What We’re Looking For NZ Registered Electrician with a current EWRB Practising Licence (essential). Proven experience in solar PV installation, battery storage, or grid-tie systems (preferred, but experienced sparkies keen to upskill in solar are encouraged to apply). Comfortable working at heights and confident on roofs. Solid working knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 5033 standards. Sharp eye for detail, clean cable management, and pride in neat finishings. Valid driver's license (Class 1) and reliable transport. Height Safety / MEWP tickets are a strong advantage.
